There are Grenadine syrups that do contain alcohol. A cordial may be a liqueur and a liqueur does contain alcohol just not as much as whiskey, vodka, brandy etc.
I bartended for quite a while and every one of the places I worked at used Rose’s or some other cheap brand that did not contain alcohol. I have to say I would probably laugh myself stupid at some ignorant girl stealing and downing a whole bottle of pomegranate/current juice, hoping to get hammered.

I didn’t think grenadine was even a cordial; isn’t it just pomegranate concentrate?
