@Lulu – What actually needs to be done is parents need to lighten up about teaching kids about sex at a young age. Kids that know about it and the proper name for body parts are less likely to have sex as teenagers and more likely to use protection when they do start having sex.
It’s like teaching a young kid to safely handle a gun. Take away their curiosity about it, they’re less likely to play with it and more likely to be safe when handling it.
Some people that maintain the idea of a parental “test,” they simply do not want the government’s fist crammed any further up my vagina further than it already is.
They start controlling the public’s reproductive organs, then what? I don’t know about you, but I don’t want the government moving on to telling me who I can and cannot have sex with to produce the most socially useful offspring.
You know who gets their genitals monitored in this country? Sex offenders.
Not just rapists, either; no, convicted pedophile rapists. These people are often chemically castrated. I do not want to be put on the same level.
YOU KNOW WHO ELSE REGULATES BABIES? Communist China.
When you do that, you end up with far MORE abortions, babies left in gutters, trash bins, and various other locations. Also, kissing cousins. Regulation doesn’t account for sex. Since China values male children, female ones are often killed or given up- looking to put parental resources into a boy. Now in many rural parts of China, with small and distant populations, there are not enough females to go around. So boys are married off to female cousins. Sometimes even sisters, which produce severely malformed offspring.
I had a son at 20 year old, pregnant through most of the age of 19. Most people would say it was too young, especially since I was unmarried and still in college. I love my son and wouldn’t change a thing. Many people, strangers and family and friends, compliment me on my son’s intelligence and beauty and attribute it to me as a parent. Having a child has made my journey in life more difficult, but it has been more than worth it. I’d rather spend a day at the park with my little boy, then get home and study than getting drunk at a frat party and passing out on someone’s lawn naked. If these regulations or “tests” were placed, I would probably end up being far less of a person than I am now with my son to give me a reason to be a responsible young woman.
I am not defending this girl, who obviously does not even have a regard for punctuation. Just maybe you should think about your opinion a little before you form it?
cajita, Maybe the government should step in and control their reproductive organs, because they obviously are incapable of controlling them on their own. Simply because she is physically capable of bearing a child definitely does not mean she is mentally and financially capable of doing so. The youngest documented pregnancy was by a 5 year old child. She obviously was physically capable, but really?.. I believe the second youngest was at 11. Were either of these girls adequately prepared to be parents? Besides, if the government would “control their reproductive organs”, then people like me wouldn’t have to support the child with our tax dollars because the parents are too damn sorry to go get a job.
On another note, I think thats awesome!! Sounds like what I woulda told her! LOL!
