People tend to be very driven about keeping moving where they are going (hence, insanely rude/dangerous drivers who are probably nice people when they aren’t trying to get somewhere). Even a very stupid person’s instinct would probably be to immediately become irritated and then start walking, if they were stalled like that. Besides, everyone else would have been pushing the person out of the way, so it seems likely the result again would have been to walk. I’m guessing this is a dumb-blonde joke.
